  • Two new members will be joining our small staff team from mid-August.
  • Mhairi Reid takes up the new position of Knowledge and Insights Manager.
  • Jane Churchill becomes one of our two Partnerships and Learning Managers.

Jane brings extensive experience of Scotland’s third sector in a variety of roles relating to community development, community-led health, social enterprise and funding. For the last eight years she’s been a freelance consultant and mentor to charities and community organisations, principally around strategy, governance and fundraising. Jane will be with us for a year, working closely with the giving groups overseeing our Scottish Culture and Heritage and Health and Social Causes themes whilst Rowan Boase is on maternity leave.

As Knowledge and Insights Manager, Mhairi will work closely with our two Partnerships and Learning Managers and our four giving groups to ensure that we make better use of evidence and insight from a range of sources in our decision-making and do more to capture and share what we’re learning as we go. Mhairi has 15 years’ experience of working with Scottish funders in related roles, including with The National Lottery Community Fund, Life Changes Trust and more recently as a freelance consultant.

This is an exciting time for the William Grant Foundation. We’re in our tenth year and looking for further opportunities to add value to the causes that matter to us. I’m delighted that we’ll benefit from Mhairi and Jane’s skills, knowledge and networks to help us do that – especially as we aim to start sharing more of what we’re doing, why we think it matters and what we’re learning.”

Nick Addington, Chief Executive

The Foundation team splits its time between our Bellshill office, working remotely and getting out and about to learn from and collaborate with our funded partners, other funders and the wider sector.
